The Resurrection Church (Opstandingskerk); is a design by architect Van den Broek, one of the famous duo; Broek and Bakema Architects. The building was inaugurated in 1957 and the church had long been out of use. To avoid demolition, research studies were conducted to find a viable way to reuse it for a different function. The building volume and character of the facades were to be respected in the conversion. The plan consists of the building six large family houses, all within the building volume of the existing building. By using special fabricated window frames with steel isolated profiles the outlook of the monumental façade is practically remained unchanged. While the building energetic performance is increased. Within the northeast façade are some small openings added. The pond in front of the building is beautifully restored.
